The Wall-Mounted Athena™ Side-Mount Functional Trainer is a low-profile cable attachment that is integrated into a 5000 series wall-mount fixed rack. Achieve a full-body workout using the multifunctional capabilities of a functional trainer machine and power rack without requiring the space for separate stand-alone units. In addition, it provides a lower price point (and smaller footprint) than the Ares Attachment which includes a lat pulldown and low row.

Provides the functionality of a functional trainer machine in a low-profile rack attachment without the bulk of a freestanding rack or machine.
PATENT-PENDING DESIGN
The light and smooth trolleys with a knurled handle and oversized pop-pin are easy to move with one hand, but strong enough to handle heavy weight. They're lined with a special plastic to protect your uprights.
INTEGRATED BAND PEGS
The integrated band pegs on the base and headplate provide the option to create added resistance with bands up to a max weight capacity of 540lbs.
ATTACHMENT VERSATILITY
Includes a urethane D Handle attachment (one per unit) and is compatible with a wide assortment of cable attachments.
QUALITY PULLEYS AND CABLES
This attachment features high-quality cables made from galvanized wire with a raw steel core and strong aluminum pulleys. The front pulleys have a 180-degree swivel for versatility working outside the rack.
HEAVY WEIGHT STACKS
The 170lb weight stacks are made from hot-rolled steel and operate at a 2:1 ratio (20lbs feels like 10lbs), ideal for functional training. The stacks can be upgraded to 220lbs.

I purchased the 80" version (my ceiling height is 96"). This rack was the perfect size for the room. The 80" height leaves enough room for pull-ups. I'm 5'2" so I can also get full ROM doing pull-downs while seated on a bench.
Assembly was straightforward. I had an issue with one weight stack sticking when the pin was inserted into the bottomn weights. REP customer service was excellent in helping troubleshoot the problem.
I've used this for over 3 months now and some things I'd like improved (although minor):
- The uprights have the REP logo in a spot that prevents you from using the hole at #24, which happens to be where I wanted the pulley for one of the exercises.
- It would be nice if there were adder weights for the cable stack. It goes up by too much for me for some exercises like lat raises.

Synopsis:
- Amazing quality with solid feel, smooth cables, and no creaking
- Incredibly space/depth efficient (Perfect intersection of quality/efficiency/price)
- Simple-enough installation (Plan/Measure before you Purchase) thanks to thorough instructions, clarity, and material itemization
- Opt for the 93" unit if possible in your space, and strongly consider upgrading weights on at least one side
- If price is a major consideration, save on peripherals (weights, attachments, bench)
- Athena is compromising utility of the Ares systems, but saving on space and cost while maintaining most of the core functionality.
- Floor-mounting posts or optional feet are not necessary
I recently purchased the Athena Wall-Mount Functional Trainer at the behest of my wife (who with three small kids, simply doesn't have time to drive to the gym, workout, clean-off, and get back to all the demands of the home). We needed a workout solution that allows for a full gym workout, but at home and in a small footprint. We have a typical suburban detached garage and we use every square foot of it, and park two full-sized SUVs in it as well. This unit is on the same side of the garage as my Hyundai Palisade, and when parked, I can easily fit between the rack and the front of the vehicle (to get to the passenger side).
Options/Purchasing Process:
Having looked at the available "space efficient" functional trainer & rack combos, I have absolutely no regrets in purchasing and building-out the Athena…

We are VERY happy with our wall mounted Athena. The assembly instructions were extremely well done and the packing of each and every component was meticulous with inspection stickers in every box. The fasteners were all shadow-boarded and clearly labeled. The functionality of the rack is awesome (we got the 93") and it went into our converted den space with 8' ceilings perfectly. The 4100 bench is also a great fit for our needs and sits nicely within the frame to be out of the way when not in use.
